Patient Plus Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our team in Galax, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions, including reviewing medical history, performing specific assessments, and crafting personalized treatment plans based on patient needs.
• Effectively communicate evaluation results and treatment strategies to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in setting recovery goals.
• Demonstrate expertise in implementing evidence-based treatment protocols tailored to each patient's condition and progress.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to address any changes in a patient's condition, making necessary adjustments to the plan of care or referring to specialists when needed.
• Manage comprehensive discharge planning and follow-up care, maintaining accurate and timely documentation reflecting the patient's treatment journey.
• Exhibit strong time management skills to fulfill productivity expectations while maintaining a punctual schedule and participating in community outreach initiatives.
• Contribute actively to the development of departmental goals and compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities and mentor students pursuing their Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on patients recovering from various orthopedic injuries and surgeries, such as joint replacements, sports injuries, and fractures. The demographic includes individuals of all ages, each requiring customized rehabilitation solutions to restore their functional abilities.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) as per the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting is essential.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety during treatment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a collaborative healthcare environment, particularly in outpatient therapy settings, is highly desirable.
• Skills in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems to document patient progress and treatment outcomes efficiently.
