Senior Analyst, Data and Analytics

This is a hybrid role requiring 3‑4 days in the Chicago or San Francisco office. Key Responsibilities Insight Development & Reporting Analyze banking product performance and client behavior to identify opportunities and risks. Support recurring and ad‑hoc reporting needs for business stakeholders. Translate data into clear, actionable insights that inform decisions across sales, pricing, and profitability. Technical Execution Use SQL and Python (or similar programming languages) to extract, clean, and analyze data. Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and reporting. Contribute to automation and process improvement efforts within the team. Collaboration & Communication Partner with cross‑functional teams to align analytics with business goals. Present findings in a clear and compelling way to non‑technical audiences. Build various reporting dashboards using the most appropriate data extraction, cleaning and visualization techniques. Provide value through insights, reporting and data visualization techniques; select, configure, and implement analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability. Research and apply continuous improvement in data visualization by identifying trends and patterns to transform raw data into actionable business insights. Work with different teams, management and stakeholders to enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions deployed in the organization. Translate business needs to technical specifications and evaluate existing data visualization systems to improve them. Develop data visualizations of large amounts of data that facilitate intuitive presentation to decision makers. Document data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes. Develop tools and deliver training programs for use of reporting tools and self‑serve analytics by non‑analytical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences. Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise‑wide focus. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Work independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Experience 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in banking or financial services. Familiarity with banking products and client segmentation. Technical Skills Proficient in SQL and Python (or other programming languages with a willingness to learn Python). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. Communication & Problem Solving Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively. Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing team. Salary & Benefits Salary: $57,500.00 – $106,500.00 (Salaried) The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
