About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Experience in EPIC and Cerner Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situations. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward achieving outcomes. Identifies outcomes for patients or patients' situations. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing safe and humane patient care. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational requirements include compliance with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participates in E-Verify as required. Scheduling includes self-scheduling for 6 weeks at a time. Call and weekend coverage may be required as needed. Medication system is provided for medication management. Documentation system utilized is Cerner. IVs are placed by RNs, and a designated team is available for specialized procedures. Pharmacy and phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Special equipment is utilized for specific patient populations.
