Lead - Nacelles – DAS Aviation Location: Cedar Hill, TX, USA Work Type: Full Time, On-Site Job Summary: The Lead – Nacelles will supervise the Nacelles department, performing sheet‑metal repairs, working on aircraft components, managing projects, ensuring compliance with FAA paperwork, and coordinating with customer support and production lead. Key Responsibilities Perform repairs to components utilizing proper manuals and references. Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned. Collaborate with Production Lead on project management, pricing and customer support roles. Lead the team to complete necessary jobs, using good judgment in day‑to‑day tasks and involving the supervisor as needed. Order parts for work orders within the department. Implement a strong hand‑over of work to the day shift. Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turnaround time. Grow the shift for future growth. Train and mentor employees. Supervise team members in daily work and project management for project completion. Communicate in English (speak, write, read). Education High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory. Aircraft specific factory training preferred. Experience 5+ years of prior experience in sheet‑metal repair/maintenance, including supervision of four or more team members. Advanced knowledge of FAA paperwork, work orders, and use of Corridor systems. Work Schedule & Responsibilities Attend scheduled work, including overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work. Reliable transportation required. Perform all work per FAA guidelines and company safety rules. Maintain customer‑oriented habits. Physical Requirements Lift at least 70 lbs. Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting. Repeated physical motions with arms and hands. Personal computer operations on Apple and Microsoft products. Work on elevated platforms up to 40 feet using fall protection safety gear. Mental Requirements Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines. Critical thinking of advanced sheet‑metal repairs. Work with others professionally. Coordinate projects. Team management skills. Working Conditions Mostly shop environment with very hot or very cold temperatures. Work outside during onsite work. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment Used Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Personal computer and work order prints.
