Field Service Engineer

Summary/Objective: Purpose of the job.

Under the supervision of the Area Service Manager, the incumbent is responsible for direct company's machine startup, repair service, and/or provides other technical assistance at the customer's facility to ensure customer satisfaction. The incumbent is required to follow the guidelines set forth in the Field Service Engineer Guidelines.

Position Description: Core functions and duties of the position.

Adheres to daily schedule provided by Area Service Manager to visit and service customers' machinery.

Troubleshoots electrical, hydraulic and mechanical problems leaving the customer with the assurance that the problem has been or will be resolved.
For new injection Molding machines: starts up, provides Molding assistance, and gives hands on operator and maintenance training.
Responsible for timely and accurate field service report specific to all services on site, problems incurred, safety violations noted, hours and expenses.
Responsible for all the proper use and care of all company-issued tooling, property, and proprietary information.

Responsible for projecting a positive image to the customer by having a positive attitude, personal appearance, and the highest level of professionalism that must be consistent with company guidelines.

Generates clear, concise, accurate and complete field service reports, expense reports, and timely return of those reports to the home office.
Schedules time and makes travel arrangements consistent with the department's objectives of controlling costs, and travel and living expenses.
Provides temporary phone coverage for technical support and/or manager while there is a vacancy due to vacation and/or illness.

Varies Any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Accountabilities:

Performance will be measured based on the position accountabilities.
Provides onsite machine support via part replacement, troubleshooting, or maintenance of all 5 SDNA brands
Accurate service reporting and documentation of all relevant service items per job, customer, machine.

Key Performance Indicators:

Overall callbacks per FSE by brand.
On time performance of service reporting and expense reporting.

Education And Experience:

Required:

Two-year technical degree in the field of electronics, or equivalent experience in the plastics industry.
Strong background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated field service experience or equivalent experience in the area of troubleshooting and repair of injection Molding machines.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics which help differentiate superior performance from average performance.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Preffered).

TRAVEL: Requirement for this position and how much travel is required and to which regions.

Must travel extensively to customer locations.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must not have travel restrictions.
Up to 90% travel required

WORK SCHEDULE: Amount of hours and days per week required to perform the job functions.

Hours Per Day - 9HR
Hours Per Week - 40-45HR
