Job Summary Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Travel RN in Labor & Delivery for a 13‑week assignment (12‑hour shifts) at a facility in Devils Lake, North Dakota. Key Job Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Location Facility in Devils Lake, North Dakota Key Responsibilities Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques. Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients. Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn. Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care. Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols. Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results. Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification. Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification. STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC). Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to read / comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independent work; handle irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration to detail.
