Position Summary

Direct Care Staff provide compassionate, structured, and trauma-informed care to children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges in a Level III residential setting. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes healing, growth, and positive behavioral change.

️ Key Responsibilities

• ️‍♂️ Supervision & Safety

  • Monitor and supervise youth during daily routines, activities, and transitions.

  • Ensure safety protocols are followed to prevent harm to self or others.

  • Conduct room checks, headcounts, and maintain line-of-sight supervision as required.

• Behavioral Support

  • Implement individualized behavior management plans.

  • Use de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed interventions.

  • Document incidents, behavioral observations, and progress notes accurately.

• Daily Living Assistance

  • Support youth with hygiene, meals, chores, and medication routines.

  • Teach and model life skills, social skills, and coping strategies.

• Program Engagement

  • Facilitate structured recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.

  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and treatment planning sessions.

• Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation per state and agency guidelines.

  • Adhere to HIPAA, DSS, and DHHS regulations.

• Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Human Services preferred.

• Minimum 1 year experience working with youth in residential, behavioral health, or juvenile justice settings.

• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and physical exam.

• RBT or BT preferred
