Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Cardiovascular specialty position located in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). This role involves caring for critically ill pediatric patients with a variety of medical conditions, including ventilated, intubated, and post-surgical cases. The position requires flexibility, effective communication with the medical team, and a friendly, positive attitude to ensure optimal patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), experience with intubated and ventilated patients, ICU level of care experience, and competence in procedures such as central line placement, chest tube placement, sedation, lumbar puncture, and intubation. Candidates without these skills will not be considered.
• Preferred Qualifications: ECMO experience (caring for patients, not operating the pump), CRRT experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required across all childrens units and neonatal intensive care units, including NICU, PIMC, PSRG, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Emergency Department for in-patient holds, and Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU.
• Additional Information: The role involves working with Vents, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, trachs, and gastronomy tubes. Candidates must be adaptable to unit policies and guidelines, with a PICU manual provided upon arrival outlining care protocols. The position supports every other weekend and on-call requirements.
