Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 36–48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
• At least one prior completed travel nursing assignment required prior to submission
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Availability to work weekends based on scheduling needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
• Background working with post-surgical populations including orthopedics, general surgery, and neurology patients
