Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)The Hampstead Central School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in developing positive behavioral, social, and academic skills. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support personnel to implement behavior intervention plans and promote student success in the least restrictive environment.Key Responsibilities:Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the supervising BCBAProvide 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioral and developmental needsCollect accurate data on student behavior and progress toward goalsSupport students in developing communication, self-regulation, and social skillsAssist in classroom routines, transitions, and academic engagement strategiesUse evidence-based behavior strategies aligned with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Maintain professional communication with teachers, specialists, and families as appropriateSupport crisis prevention and de-escalation strategies when needed, following district protocolsParticipate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional developmentQualifications:Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification requiredExperience working with children in an educational or clinical setting is preferredKnowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principlesAbility to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary teamStrong communication, data collection, and organizational skillsCalm, patient, and supportive approach with studentsPreferred Skills:Experience in elementary school settingsTraining in Crisis Prevention InterventionsFamiliarity with special education processes and IEP implementationExperience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder or emotional/behavioral needsCompleted applications require a cover letter of interest, one recommendation letter, and three professional references with contact information.
