Willingness to control your own income. Interest in starting your own business without extreme start‑up costs. If you answered “yes” to these questions, you owe it to yourself to learn more about becoming a Shelter Insurance® Agent. Background & Experience We do not require prior insurance experience. About half of our new agents have no insurance background; they come from real estate, retail sales, education, coaching, etc. Some sales experience and a degree with general business courses are helpful, but not necessary. Qualifications Motivated attitude. Entrepreneurial spirit. Skilled at communicating with clients in a sales environment. Basic business proficiencies and ability to meet sales requirements. Eligible to work in the United States. Responsibilities Develop prospects and sell Shelter insurance products. Manage your own agency operations. Optionally hire staff for general administrative duties to support sales. Maintain financial responsibility for any unsatisfied bills upon departure. If you cease to be a Shelter Agent, financial responsibilities are limited to any unsatisfied bills owed through your departure. Compensation & Benefits Unlimited new commissions.
