The Role We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Operations Manager to take full ownership of our catering kitchen and day-to-day culinary operations. The Kitchen Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the Beyond Details kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently, cleanly, and consistently. This person will oversee food production, purchasing, inventory, kitchen organization, food quality, sanitation, and kitchen staff. We need someone who takes pride in their kitchen and naturally notices what needs to be done. The right person is organized, dependable, extremely clean, calm under pressure, and able to produce food that is both beautiful and delicious . Primary Responsibilities Take full ownership of the daily operations of the Beyond Details kitchen Plan and oversee food production for all upcoming catered events Prepare and execute high-quality food according to Beyond Details recipes, menus, and presentation standards Create organized prep and production plans for each event Place food orders accurately and on time while managing quantities and minimizing waste Maintain appropriate inventory levels and keep food costs in mind when purchasing and producing Keep the kitchen, coolers, freezers, dry storage, equipment, and workspaces exceptionally clean and organized Ensure food is properly labeled, dated, stored, rotated, and handled Maintain all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards Manage and direct prep cooks and other kitchen team members Make sure every event is completely prepared, packed, and ready before leaving the kitchen Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and overall food quality Communicate with the event and operations teams regarding menus, counts, special dietary needs, timing, and changes Identify problems before they become problems and take responsibility for finding solutions Help develop and improve recipes, systems, kitchen procedures, and efficiencies What We're Looking For Highly organized and detail-oriented An excellent and experienced cook Able to create food that looks beautiful and tastes exceptional Extremely clean with high standards for sanitation and kitchen organization Comfortable ordering food and managing inventory Experienced with food quantities, yields, portions, and production planning Able to manage multiple events and deadlines at the same time A strong leader who can direct a kitchen team while maintaining a positive work environment Dependable, proactive, and accountable Comfortable working independently and making decisions Experienced in catering, banquet, restaurant, or high-volume food production Willing to jump in and do whatever is necessary to get the job done What Success Looks Like At Beyond Details, success in this position means that the kitchen is always organized, always clean, and always prepared . Food orders are correct. Prep is completed on time. Food is consistently delicious and beautifully presented. Waste is controlled. The team knows what they are supposed to be doing. Events leave the kitchen completely prepared. Most importantly, ownership should be able to trust that the kitchen is being handled without having to manage the details every day. This is an important leadership role within Beyond Details and is ideal for someone who wants to take pride and ownership in building and running an exceptional catering kitchen.
