Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Job Description We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. Description As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work with children with various physical, developmental, and emotional challenges. You will assess their needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to help them improve their daily living skills, motor functions, and overall quality of life. You will collaborate with families, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive and effective therapeutic environment. Your role will also involve educating parents and caregivers on supporting their child's development at home. Responsibilities Work with the Occupational therapist to develop treatment based on assessments and goals. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and motor functions. Collaborate with families, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to create a supportive therapeutic environment. Educate parents and caregivers on how to support their child's development at home. Monitor and document each child's progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Use various therapeutic techniques and tools to engage children in therapy. Provide guidance and support to families navigating the healthcare system. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan care for children. Stay current with the latest research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy. Advocate for the needs and rights of children with disabilities. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all therapy sessions and communications. Develop and conduct workshops or training sessions for parents and caregivers. Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants and interns. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards of practice. Requirements Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Experience working with children in a therapeutic setting. Strong understanding of child development and pediatric conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and tools. Ability to educate and support parents and caregivers.
