Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled RN with strong PACU and ICU experience to join a Cardiac Pre/Post (Cath Lab Recovery) unit . This role focuses on post-procedural recovery care for cardiac patients, requiring strong clinical judgment, sedation recovery experience, and sterile technique competency.

⚠️ Important Note

This is NOT a traditional ER role despite the title.
Strong PACU + ICU experience is mandatory .

✅ Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (AZ or Compact)

• BLS & ACLS Certifications – Required

• Minimum 2+ years of PACU experience (MANDATORY)

• ICU experience required

• Strong skills in post-anesthesia and cardiac recovery care

• Must pass dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts)

️ Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in cardiac pre/post-procedure recovery

• Monitor patients recovering from cardiac cath, sedation, and anesthesia

• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation

• Maintain strict sterile technique during procedures

• Assist with Foley catheter insertion and central line care

• Deliver safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced recovery setting

• Document using Cerner EMR

Unit Highlights

• Unit: Cardiac Pre & Post (Cath Lab Recovery)

• Patient Ratio: 1:2

• Common Cases: Cardiac cath recovery, general anesthesia, conscious sedation

• Equipment: Phillips Telemetry

• Support: 24/7 RT & Pharmacy

• Scrubs: Provided (Blue)

⏱️ Schedule & Requirements

• 3x12-hour day shifts

• 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks

• Holidays based on unit needs

• No block scheduling

• No floating required

Hiring & Compliance Requirements

• Profile review + Manager interview

• Must pass:

  • Dysrhythmia exam (pre-offer)

  • Day 1 SIM Lab (PASS/FAIL)

    • Foley catheter insertion

    • Central line dressing change / port-a-cath skills

• Strict sterile field adherence required (failure may lead to termination)

• Must have own vehicle

• 50-mile radius rule applies (DL required)

Additional Guidelines

• Professional appearance required (natural hair color, no facial piercings)

• Clean-shaven (for fit testing)

• First-time travelers with strong experience may be considered
