With customers' mission-critical needs always in mind, our employees deliver end-to-end technology solutions connecting the space, air, land, sea and cyber domains in the interest of national security.Job Location: Hurlburt Field, FL / Eglin AFB, FL (Onsite)Job Schedule: Rotating Shifts; 5/8 - Mission DependentJob Description: The A&P Mechanic is responsible for the scheduled/unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems; turbine engine, propeller, airframe, flight control/landing gear/engine rigging, troubleshooting systems, daily/turnaround inspections, perform corrosion inspections and related treatment, washing/cleaning, servicing aircraft fuel/ oil/ hydraulic/ oxygen/ nitrogen systems, structural repairs and component in-house repair/back shop programs.Essential Functions:Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearanceMaintains Air Tractor 802U aircraft in support of aircrew missions.Launches and recovers aircraft, to include tie-down, cover, and plug removal/installation, and perform required inspections to ensure airframe structure and power plant serviceability.Adjusts, aligns, and calibrates aircraft components. Performs functional checks of fuel, hydraulic, engines, avionics, and electro-environmental systems.Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) established procedures/specifications.Uses applicable technical data/manuals when performing aircraft maintenance, and to troubleshoot aircraft/system discrepancies.Performs in-progress and follow-up inspections during and upon completion of maintenance actions. Researches, orders and receives aircraft parts.Prepares parts for turn-in back into the supply system. Initiates material deficiency reports as required.Maintains hand and special tools in a safe and serviceable condition.Responsible for site, customer and company tool accountability procedures to include reporting unserviceable tools and equipment to appropriate responsible party.Annotates equipment/tools inspection and condition documents.Performs serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipment.Complies with established policies, procedures and standards.Willingness and ability to assist in training newly assigned personnel as required.Operates vehicles, both special purpose and regular as authorized.Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.Assists assigned personnel in researching and requisitioning aircraft parts and components and in determining the reparability and serviceability of these assets.Monitors bench stock items and tool inventory inspections.Assists in aircraft movement flight line FOD prevention walks as required.Completes maintenance documentation using required forms.Services aircraft with fuel, oil, grease, hydraulic fluid, air, oxygen and nitrogen.Performs aircraft corrosion control inspections/procedures to include wash, wipe down, polish and vacuum.Discusses discrepancies with aircrews to secure adequate troubleshooting information and flight data.Other related duties as required to support contract and mission requirements.Maintain strict compliance with all required Communications Security (COMSEC) policies and procedures.In-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives.Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.In-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations.In-depth knowledge of using aircraft technical publications-read, interpret, follow and basic comprehension of schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts.Strong working knowledge (input and extract data) of maintenance database technology.Willingness and ability to work shifts as assigned and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team if required. CONUS and OCONUS deployment may be required.Willingness and ability to work in the established OCONUS work/living environment, work shift schedules as assigned 7 days a week, 12 hours a day to support mission requirements.Qualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate (A&P license)Ability to complete/pass a required DCMA physical exam and CRC course prior to OCONUS deployment.Must be a US citizenValid State Driver's LicenseValid US PassportPreferred Additional Skills:Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly preferredStrongly prefer recent Air Tractor 802U or similar experience on civilian and military platforms.Formal or Specialized Training/Equivalent on assigned aircraft and equipmentExperience in the use of common hand and special tools/testers as required for aircraft maintenance.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Work Environment: The diversity of working conditions both CONUS and OCONUS range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where there are austere conditions and/or inclement weather that may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.
