Interim Controller (CONTRACT)
Fully Onsite (5 days/week) - Richardson, TX


One of Vaco's clients is looking for a strong hands-on Controller with government contracts/ defense experience - Company is acquisitive. They are looking for a process-focused Accountant that can bring ideas to the table, establish internal control and lead process improvement initiatives.


Compensation: $70-$80/hr


The Role:

• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, billing, cash management, and month-end close
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Support preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting for management and corporate stakeholders
• Oversee and administer company 401(k) plan, including compliance, reporting, audits, and coordination with 3 rd party administrators
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings and payments (federal, state, and local)
• Oversee federal income tax
• Manage sales and use tax compliance, registrations, and audit support

Requirements:

• 7 years progressive accounting and finance experience
• Required bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• CPA nice to have.
• Experience in govcon/defense industry nice to have.
• $30-$150 M annual revenue range
• Systems - Quickbooks, Deltek
• Personality needed Strong communicator, efficient worker
