Critical Care/Trauma Physician

Lead Intensivist Physician - Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Massachusetts We have a full-time BC/BE Lead Intensivist position available to join our well-established Critical Care practice at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. POSITION DETAILS This position is a daytime flexible block schedule. Manage Critical Care patients in a busy ICU. Create, direct, coordinate, and supervise the patient care plans daily Conduct/order diagnostic tests, and analyze results and prescribe indicated treatments and therapies Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate Work as part of an integrated team with care management, nursing, pharmacy, etc. Assist in patient education and goal setting Participate and adhere to all quality metrics and goals as established and directed by Adfinitas or the client/hospital Partner with and oversee Advanced Practice Providers Submit accurate and timely charges for all professional services performed Lead Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) codes and Rapid Response Team evaluations Attend committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate Manage ventilators Complete central lines Perform intubations Comply with policies and procedures regarding department operations Establish and maintain records, reports and statistical data MERCY MEDICAL CENTER-Springfield, MA Day coverage: 1 physician Night Coverage: APP in the ICU; Intensivist backup by phone EMR: Meditech Daily Census: 3-6 ICU: Open Requirements BE/BC in Critical Care Medicine Strong inpatient skill set Quality-focused team player Experience working with advanced practice providers Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team Effective oral and written communication skills Commitment to providing exceptional patient care Active state license, American Heart Association CPR Certification, DEA License, state Controlled Substance Registration About Us - Adfinitas Health Adfinitas Health is a rapidly growing and multispecialty medical practice.
