Location: Tuba City, AZ

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 4 shifts per week, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Day shift), plus on-call rotation

Candidate Pay Rate: $67.5 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled perioperative nursing care as the circulating RN for a variety of surgical specialties
  • Assess patients, develop nursing diagnoses, plan and implement perioperative interventions, and evaluate outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation and perioperative records in line with facility policies
  • Respond promptly to emergency cases and serve on-call as needed, preparing for quick-turnaround situations
  • Support infection prevention practices, patient safety initiatives, and sterile technique in the OR
  • Encourage and pursue scrubbing opportunities to expand technical skills across specialties

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current, full and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, territory, or Puerto Rico
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum two years of clinical nursing and/or operating room experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (to be obtained within 6 months of hire if not current)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification to be completed within 6 months of hire if not current
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) expected to be completed within 1 year of hire
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) to be completed within 2 years of hire

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Knowledge & Skills

  • Perioperative patient assessment and care planning
  • Operating Room circulation and familiarity with sterile field principles
  • Experience or willingness to scrub in Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, Ophthalmology, Dental, and General surgery
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to act under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary surgical teams
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of Native American communities served
  • On-call readiness and ability to respond to emergent surgical cases
