Job Description

This role will involve anticipating and responding to guests' needs, suggestively selling beverages and menu items, taking orders, answering guest questions, making recommendations, up-selling liquors, communicating drink orders to the bar through the Point of Sales system, delivering drinks, maintaining line of sight/atmosphere control, removing dirty glasses and dishes, keeping tables clean, cleaning spills, removing food, trash or other obstacles from the floor, maintaining company safety and sanitation standards, following housekeeping standards per company policy, keeping current on all standard operating procedures, requesting identification from guests who appear to be under 30 years of age, ensuring responsible alcohol service per local ordinance alcohol awareness training and company alcohol policies, recognizing when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refusing further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, receiving payment and processing cash, credit card or Travelers check transactions according to company policy, ensuring that comp and void checks are processed according to company policy, assisting other servers and staff as needed, and occasionally working special events that are scheduled throughout the venue.

This person will bring the ability to work late hours, a flexible schedule, working knowledge of cocktail tray service, basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems, 3 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment, tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms, Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent, and the ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.

Preferred skills include cash handling experience, experience recognizing valid ID's, and experience in a live music environment.

Physical demands and working environment include a fast-paced, often loud and stressful environment, extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.

The expected compensation for this position is $16.50 USD Hourly. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
