About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as a key operational partner to the Executive Director. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization's day-to-day operations, cross-functional priorities, and internal systems align with its mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for executive partnership, including managing the Executive Director's calendar and communications, and preparing strategic materials. They will also oversee operations and systems, maintain organizational tools, and manage vendor relationships. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will be involved in people and culture, finance and grants, programs and events, and board governance. Applicants for the Chief of Staff position at the company must have a minimum of five years' experience in a similar role, with a strong preference for those who have worked in a mission-driven organization. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of operating as a primary deputy to a senior leader, strong financial and systems literacy, and the ability to build and maintain efficient systems. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous attention to compliance and process, high ethical standards, and the ability to work with a diverse team. Experience in a nonprofit organization, particularly in the areas of family separation, economic hardship, or racial injustice, is highly valued. The Chief of Staff will be expected to be in a full-time, in-person role, and must be committed to the values and mission of the organization.
