Registered Dietitian – Hospital | Days

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for an inpatient hospital setting. This opportunity is ideal for a nutrition professional who is passionate about providing evidence-based nutritional care, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Position: Registered Dietitian – Hospital
• Location: Coos Bay, OR
• Shift: Days
• Duration: 8 Weeks
• Schedule: 40 Hours Guaranteed per Week
• Weekend Requirement: None
• On-Call Requirement: None

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for hospitalized patients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Recommend appropriate nutrition interventions and provide ongoing follow-up.
• Educate patients and families on nutrition principles, dietary modifications, and healthy food choices.
• Document patient care using the Nutrition Care Process and standardized terminology.
• Communicate nutrition care plans and recommendations with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and diabetes self-management education.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, nutrition education programs, and staff in-services.
• Assist with maintaining nutrition policies, procedures, educational materials, and standards of care.
• Stay current with evidence-based nutrition practices through continuing education and professional development.
• Complete all required documentation, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Completion of a Dietetic Internship or approved Master's Program with qualifying experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient hospital dietitian experience .
• Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) Certification .
• Active Oregon Dietitian License or eligibility to obtain before start.
• Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager Certification, or ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
