Overview TheEquipmentOperatorpositionutilizesheavyequipmentoperationknowledgein the constructionandmaintenanceof ournation'sPowerGrid.Youwillassistyourteaminbuilding,repairing, andmaintainingoverheadelectricaldistributionsystems. Job Duties As an EquipmentOperator,youwill supportyourteamby: Securingthesafetyofyourselfandothers Assistingfellowline-workersinmeetingprojectobjectives Readilyjoiningstormrestorationeffortsin timesofneed Operatingvehiclesandequipmentin a professionalmanner Continuingtrainingtoimprovetechnicaland leadershipskills Team-Oriented Self-Motivated CustomerServiceFocused EthicalandHonest DutifullyfollowsestablishedSafetyRulesandCompanyPolicy Physical Aspects Thephysicaldemandsdescribedherearetypicalofthosethatmustbemetbyateam-memberto successfullyperformtheessentialfunctionsoftheirjobin powerlineconstruction. Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,team-membersareregularlyrequiredtotalkorhear.Theteam- memberis frequentlyrequiredtostand;walk;usehandstofinger,handleandfeel;andreachwithhands andarms. Theteam-memberis frequentlyrequiredtoperformrigorousphysicallabor;sit;climbdifferenttypesof structures(wood,steel,etc.);orbalance;andstoop,kneelcrouchorcrawl.Team-membersfrequentlylift ormoveuptoorin-excessof50 lbs. Specificvisionabilitiesrequiredbythisjobincludeclosevision, distancevision,colorvision,peripheralvision,depthperceptionandabilitytoadjustfocus. Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,team-membersmayfrequentlybeexposedtofumesor airborne particles,movingmechanicalpartsandvibration.Team-membersareoccasionallyexposedtoavarietyof extremeconditionsatconstructionjobsites.Thenoiselevelin theworkenvironmentcanbe loud. Powerlineconstructionworkis performedoutsideandis subjecttodiverseweatherconditions.
