Two supervisor references are required at the time of submission. One reference must be within 12 months and one within the last three years of experience. Modules are required to be completed before starting the assignment. Modules typically take 3-4 hours to complete; this time is not billable. Travelers will need to work two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling. Holiday time off will be considered but not guaranteed. There are three operating room suites with two in use most of the time. BLS and CST are not required. The average number of surgeries per day is managed within the unit. Call duties vary and should be discussed. Read and interpret EKG strips is necessary. Surgeons are available 24/7 during regular hours, with call overnight and on weekends. Weekend call is not regularly scheduled but includes one weekend call per month. The common diagnoses and types of patients include orthopedic, orthopedic trauma, and general surgery. Floor-specific orientation will last 1-2 days with a preceptor. Cancellation policy allows for up to three cancellations per contract. Client may cancel a full shift or any part of a shift.
