This is a rare opportunity to shape a modern finance function from the ground up—leveraging AI, advanced analytics, and redesigned operating models—while working in close partnership with our Chief Financial Officer.If you're a pragmatic visionary who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, and you're energized by building something meaningful within a growing financial services firm, we want to hear from you.What You'll DoPartner directly with the CFO to reimagine the finance operating model and lead the organizational change required to bring it to life.Establish and drive a multi-year roadmap for finance transformation aligned to Piper Sandler's broader strategic priorities.Stand up and lead transformation management, overseeing a portfolio of initiatives spanning technology, process, and people.Define value-realization metrics (e.g., productivity gains, cycle-time reduction, reporting quality) to measure and communicate transformation impact.Coordinate a cross-functional network of project management, change management, process design, technology, and data analytics resources to drive transformation execution, partnering closely with existing Finance and Technology teamsCultivate strong partnerships across IT, finance leadership, and business lines—breaking down silos and securing buy-in.Develop training and upskilling programs to build AI and analytics fluency across the finance organization.Deliver early, visible wins that build momentum while maintaining the operational continuity finance teams depend on.Communicate a compelling vision for transformation to audiences ranging from finance staff to the Board.Who you areStrategic Operator: You connect enterprise strategy to a multi-year transformation roadmap, translating CFO priorities into a portfolio of initiatives across technology, process, and people.Change Leader: You lead organizational change at scale — reshaping the finance operating model, not just implementing point solutions — while building the AI and analytics fluency needed to sustain it.Collaborative Partner: You build executive-level trust across IT, Finance leadership, and business lines, breaking down silos and securing buy-in for enterprise-wide change.Clear Communicator: You distill complex transformation topics into a compelling vision and deliver decision-ready updates to audiences ranging from finance staff to the Board.Execution-Focused: You stand up and lead transformation management, delivering early, visible wins while defining the value-realization metrics that prove impact.Resilient Problem Solver: You navigate legacy system constraints and organizational ambiguity in a regulated environment, keeping teams focused on progress without losing sight of operational continuity.What You BringRequired12–15 years of progressive experience in finance, with 5+ years in senior leadership position in finance.Proven track record leading large-scale finance transformation initiatives, ideally within financial services, banking, or capital markets.Demonstrated experience redesigning finance operating models—restructuring how a finance organization delivers work, not just implementing point solutions.Experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams with measurable business outcomes.Experience partnering with C-suite/CFO-level stakeholders and driving enterprise-wide change with demonstrated adoption.Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying on direct authority.​PreferredDirect experience implementing AI or intelligent automation within a finance function.Prior experience establishing a Transformation Management Office (TMO) or equivalent governance structure.Experience navigating legacy system constraints alongside modernization efforts in a regulated industry.Working familiarity with modern finance technology platforms (cloud-based ERP/reporting systems, RPA, AI tools) sufficient to direct technical teams and evaluate vendor/build decisions.Why Piper SandlerAt Piper Sandler, we're investing in the future of our finance organization—not just the systems and processes, but the people and partnerships that make finance a true strategic asset to the firm. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation.
