Job Description\n PRIMARY PURPOSE:\n Under minimal supervision ensures the safe and efficient loading and delivery of hazardous materials.\n ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:\n \n Has the physical and mental ability to operate a commercial fuel truck/trailer in a safe and expert manner in any traffic, weather and timing.\n Has a thorough knowledge of all applicable laws and company procedures and is committed to complying with them at all times.\n Inspects assigned vehicle prior to and at end of shift; reports any mechanical deficiencies to the appropriate persons.\n Has a full understanding of load rack operations.\n Has a full understanding of delivery site location tank layouts and truck offloading procedures.\n Ensures that the truck is loaded and unloaded within company policy as well as D.O.T./Environmental guidelines.\n Uses all resources available (dispatch, site maps, tank labeling, consult with senior personnel, etc,) to ensure that the correct products are delivered to the correct customer storage tanks and locations.\n Utilizes the delivery site’s automated inventory management system (Insight, Fuelquest and smart tank etc.) to confirm, whenever possible, that the dispatched quantity will fit safely prior to loading.\n Has a full understanding of a transport Bill of Lading and advises the appropriate person(s) of any discrepancies requiring corrections.\n Identifies Emergency Matters; and notifies the appropriate personnel as necessary.\n Documents tank opening / closing; product and water levels on the customer BOL.\n Prior to starting a delivery, uses the opening product levels to perform calculations to ensure the quantity shown on the BOL will fit.\n Post delivery, uses the opening and closing product levels, to perform calculations to ensure that the quantities shown on the BOL were completely and correctly delivered.\n Has a working understanding of load rack procedures/policies at outside supply points for loading of product not carried at Aloha Petroleum terminals.\n Must be able to meet all physical and mental demands of the job.\n \n Daily Duties:\n \n \n Completes a Daily Truck Inspection Report\n \n Completes a Driver’s Daily Shift Report\n \n Maintains a record of daily/weekly on duty hours in accordance with D.O.T. guidelines\n \n Completes daily timekeeping requirements\n \n Completes work as assigned\n \n Periodic Duties:\n \n \n Attends monthly safety meetings.\n \n Takes and passes - DOT Drivers Physical (usually every 2-years)\n \n Maintains all Hazmat certifications (usually every 3-years)\n \n Attends Driver Improvement Program training (usually once per year)\n \n Must be able to pass required Drug and Alcohol Testing\n \n Occasional Duties:\n \n \n Other duties/jobs as assigned by the Fleet and Logistics Supervisor.\n \n \n \n WORKING CONDITIONS:\n Equipment Use:\n \n Truck and Trailer\n \n Tractor Trailer\n Automated Inventory Management Systems\n \n Load Rack\n \n Storage tanks\n \n Computer\n \n Smart Tablet\n \n Work Hours:\n · Bids on work shift according to work seniority in Driver group; which may include evenings, weekends and holidays\n MENTAL DEMANDS:\n \n \n Safety First attitude\n \n Demonstrates independent judgment and good organization of work assignments.\n \n Demonstrates the importance of professionalism and achievement.\n \n Always demonstrates quality customer service.\n \n \n PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n \n \n Physical dexterity and strength necessary to safely enter into and exit from delivery vehicles, including cab-over and conventional tractors.\n \n Physical dexterity to enable squatting and bending as necessary to connect/disconnect delivery elbows and drop hoses.\n \n Physical strength to lift approximately 50 pounds on a routine basis. \n \n Ability to work 10-hour shifts or longer if required\n \n \n COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:\n \n \n Interacts positively with all levels of employees and customers.\n \n QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:\n Skills/Knowledge:\n \n \n Mechanical aptitude\n \n Possesses the ability to use basic computer programs\n \n Possesses general familiarity with Company operating guidelines, procedures, and standards.\n \n Resolves work-related problems and works well under pressure.\n \n Availability to work on weekends, nights, overtime and holidays as may be required\n \n Education/Training:\n \n \n Hazardous material training.\n \n DOT regulations for truck operators.\n \n Possess valid State of Hawaii driver’s CDL license with hazmat endorsements and TX qualifications.\n \n \n Experience:\n \n \n Two years driving experience delivering petroleum products preferred\n \n \n Qualified to drive tractor and semi-trailer and/or doubles\n \n REPORTS TO: Fleet Supervisor\n \n \n
