Company Qualcomm Incorporated Job Area Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary We are looking for a hands‑on software engineer for our Qualcomm’s enterprise AI platform focused on knowledge retrieval engineering, agentic pipeline development, agent runtime management and agent powered applications. This is a fast‑paced, execution‑focused role involving rapid delivery of features, continuous iteration on pipelines, building new agentic solutions for business processes and integration of agentic capabilities into existing solutions. This role requires full‑time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week). This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Work on enterprise‑scale AI powered search and retrieval systems supporting various downstream applications and agents. Design and improve end‑to‑end pipelines (ingestion → embedding → indexing → retrieval) with objective evaluation and test harnesses. Develop and integrate APIs/services/MCP/agent‑tools to expose ML/AI capabilities. Improve retrieval relevance, chunking strategies, and embedding quality. Evaluate and debug search quality issues, hallucinations, and grounding failures. Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams to deliver production‑grade enterprise features. Must‑Have Qualifications Strong Python and Rust skills for data processing and application development. Experience with Search systems (Lexical, Semantic). Understanding of ML fundamentals and NLP/embeddings. Hands‑on experience with RAG systems and LLM‑based applications. Experience building AI applications (including Agentic AI workflows). Experience with API/service development (REST). Solid understanding of Agentic frameworks (LangChain, Agno, etc.,). Nice‑to‑Have Tracing/observability tools for LLM systems. Experience with Elasticsearch / vector search. Docker / Kubernetes exposure. Multi‑agent systems and evaluation frameworks. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits $94,200.00 - $141,200.00 The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
