Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor (MS Ortho) Plano, TX
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Orthopedic (MS Ortho) registered nurse for an Ortho Trauma specialty medsurge role in Plano, Texas. This position supports patients with orthopedic and trauma-related conditions, contributing to safe, patient-centered care on a medical-surgical unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support); 1 year MS experience; ability to provide Ortho and/or Trauma patient care
• Preferred Qualifications: Ortho and/or Trauma patient experience
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care for Ortho and Trauma patients, including polytrauma patients and non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine
  • Support care for trauma patients with downgraded TBI and other orthopedic/trauma diagnoses as described for the unit
  • Participate in unit workflow and teamwork to support safe patient care (team player fit)
• Additional Information:
  • Unit supports patient ratios of 1:5 with flexibility to 1:6
  • Typical on-unit needs include care for patients with no more than 3 drains and burn downgrades
  • Heparin and Protonix drips may be required per unit needs
  • Floating: All MS units
  • Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
  • Weekend commitment: 4 weekend commitments
  • Staffing notes include daytime and nighttime charge/clinical staffing as part of unit operations
  • Start date: 07/13/2026
