Director of Catering

Join Our TeamWe are seeking an experienced, driven, and customer-focused Director of Catering to lead catering sales, event planning, and event execution for our full-service hotel. This leadership position is responsible for maximizing catering revenue, generating new business opportunities, developing lasting client relationships, and ensuring flawless execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and banquet functions.The ideal candidate will be a strategic sales leader with a strong background in hotel catering, banquet operations, event planning, and hospitality management. This role requires an individual who can successfully balance revenue generation, team leadership, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, meeting and event planning, collaborating with the Chef and Food and Beverage Director on menu creation, group room reservations, billing, forecasting, client relationships, and upselling opportunities.The Director of Catering is also responsible for training, coaching, and developing the catering team to ensure consistent service, effective sales practices, and successful event execution.Accountabilities: The Director of Catering is expected to enhance the reputation, optimize revenue and profitability of the department to maximize revenues. The Director of Catering is expected to exceed budgeted revenues while maintaining guest experiences. He/she must act as liaison between client and operating departments to ensure a successful meeting, events and generate repeat business.Qualification StandardsEducation & Experience:At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel catering or related fieldDegree in Hotel Management PreferredPrevious supervisory responsibility requiredOther Abilities, Skills, Knowledge:Thorough knowledge of F&B procedures and serving standardsMenu and Cost/Profit awarenessFunction planning abilityMust be able to perform duties of all positions within departmentProfitSword and Delphi a Plus!Salary RequirementsThis position offers an annual base salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 USD, based on experience and qualifications.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
