How you'll make an impact in this role

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• 2+ years OR CST experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and all necessary sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies to ensure a safe, infection-free environment.
• Anticipate the surgical team's needs by efficiently handing required instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
• Facilitate the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients to optimize surgical access and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain instruments in a highly organized manner while rigorously monitoring and tracking instrument counts throughout the procedure to prevent retained foreign objects.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
