As a YMCA Personal Trainer, you'll empower members to reach their goals through customized training programs, motivation, and accountability — all while being part of a supportive community that changes lives every day. Essential functions include providing quality member service, engaging in members' workouts, conducting baseline fitness assessments, using Listen First skills to assist members in determining their wellness goals, and providing encouragement to help members meet their goals.

Qualifications include holding a current Personal Training Certification from a nationally recognized organization with NCAA Accreditation, knowledge of strength/free weight and cardiovascular equipment, general strength training principles, appropriate exercise modifications for special populations, and basic nutrition. CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification is also required.

Physical requirements include walking, standing, kneeling, and stooping; continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking; lifting, pulling, and moving up to 100 pounds; standing or sitting for long periods of time; and being physically able to successfully complete required certifications.

Accountability includes completion of assigned goals as measured by the number of people served and service satisfaction scores. An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements of the position, which may include criminal background and reference checks, E-Verify, drug test, driver's license record, and/or a Child Protective Services Check (CPS). Additional driver's license check, CPS, criminal background check, alcohol, and/or drug testing may be required to be processed in the future in order to meet and/or maintain the requirements of this position.
