Allied Technician - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Sterile Processing Tech
The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of surgical instruments and equipment. This position requires expertise in the following areas:
- Sterilization processes
- Decontamination and assembly/wrapping of sterile processing items
- Scope reprocessing
Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
Call Requirement: On-call duty at least once every two months, from 7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 AM Monday
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Experience in neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases preferred
- National certifications required: CBSPD and/or HSPA
- BLS certification is not required
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- All time-off requests must be provided upon submission; no requests will be approved after the contract is signed
- Guaranteed hours with a provision for potential adjustments
- Type of Facility: Acute Care
- Trauma Level: Level III
- Total Staffed Beds: 286
- Scrub Color: Provided by the facility
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: No cost
Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. Please consider this when confirming assignments during these months.
