Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) Minneapolis, Minnesota PEARCE is a leading technology‑enabled provider of asset management solutions for mission‑critical electromechanical infrastructure throughout North America. This role focuses on technical maintenance, repair, operations, and engineering services for solar power plants in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division. Your Impact The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) performs physical labor at solar energy sites near Minneapolis. The technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while maintaining safety and professionalism. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Minneapolis. Core Responsibilities Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub‑station equipment. Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules. Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multimeters, megers, amp‑clamps, and related equipment. Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation. Maintain a strong safety background, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Work independently and as part of a team. Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements. Core Experience 2+ years of commercial/industrial O&M experience on solar power plants (preferred). Preventative maintenance experience on solar utility equipment (preferred). Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills. Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI). Ability to initiate issue escalation at site. Capacity to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices. High work ethic and strong aptitude. Location & Work Requirements Must live within approximately 50 miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Will be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors. Capable of lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call via telephone/text. Will travel up to 25% of the time for company support. Compensation $30.00–$42.00 hourly (DOE). Compensation is influenced by skill set, experience, and location. Eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, and other applicable compensation.
