Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, Advanced AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. - Proficiency in care of high-risk obstetric patients. - Ability to care for Magnesium and Insulin drips. - Experience with C-section circulation and recovery in PACU. - Proficiency in newborn care at both vaginal and cesarean delivery. Description: The role involves providing care to pregnant patients, including high-risk cases. RNs are expected to follow established guidelines for patient ratios and care standards. The unit includes multiple beds for labor, delivery, and postpartum care. Emergency support is available with hospitalists present. Registered Nurses must be prepared to titrate drips as required. Floating to postpartum and antepartum units is expected. RNs will take teams of patients in these units as needed. Electronic fetal monitoring systems are utilized, and training is required. Weekend and holiday work is expected on a rotating basis. Surgical scrubs will be provided. Unit-specific orientation will be conducted to ensure comfort and competency in the role. The unit is a trauma center with a focus on high-quality patient care.
