Others negotiable Who We Are Santa Fe Imaging performs diagnostic imaging studies read by the physicians of Santa Fe Radiology, PC for medical practitioners and patients of New Mexico. Through the leadership of SFI’s Board of Directors, Santa Fe Radiology physicians direct the mission and quality of all services provided by our facility. Daily operations are managed by the Director of Imaging Services and his professional staff. A strong focus on customer service for patients, physicians and medical office staff who use our services is at the heart of everything we do. Job Summary The Lead Mammography Technologist assists the Director/Manager, Imaging Services in the day-to-day supervision and coordination of assigned section personnel and maintains supply and equipment resources. Performs all mammography procedures while under the general supervision of a licensed practitioner, for the purposes of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders at a technical level not requiring constant supervision and within the scope of their license and according to established standards and practices of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Mammography Quality Standards Act. Responsibilities and Duties Performs all mammography procedures with appropriate application of technical and positioning protocols, safety procedures, radiation protection and proper image identifying criteria according to department policy and procedure. Verifies physician orders for instructions from requesting physician and consults with the radiologists. Preps patient for exam. Explains procedure and provides education as appropriate. Performs equipment warm up, calibration and safety check as needed. Operates hospital computer system. Reports to supervisor any equipment malfunctions. Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques. Maintains production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures; developing mammograms; observing mammogram results; determining necessary adjustments for optimum results; retaking mammograms as required; forwarding completed studies to radiologist for interpretation. Responsible for departmental records. Accurately and promptly documents in departmental records (film, file, and computer) patient name, exam date, film/image markers, clinical history, complaints, allergies, etc. Reports reactions, complications, changes in condition etc. to radiologist, physician, supervisor, peers and nursing unit. Plans and organizes work schedules, call schedules, and daily work assignments for section staff. Participates in staff/student evaluation process, disciplinary process, attendance documentation, orientation and training, and employee selection. Assists management with an effective quality and process improvement program for all areas of responsibility. Participates in volume reporting, productivity reporting, quality improvement data, and maintaining appropriate documentation for regulatory agencies. Maintains a cost efficient supply of inventory, which minimizes department expense while ensuring appropriate stock levels. Ensures operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance. Acts as a steward for quality process improvement and resource management. Qualifications Education and/or Experience : Graduation from an approved program in radiologic technology required. Minimum two years of technical experience; excellent organizational skills and control of resources required. Computer Skills : Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Registration in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Licensure in Radiology by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) required. CPR certification required. Additional certification in Mammography or eligibility by ARRT required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
