Director of Accounting

Accounting Director Plano/Frisco, TX – hybrid, onsite 2X/week Compensation: $140-165K + 20% bonus One of Vaco’s legacy clients is looking to onboard a Director of Accounting to oversee corporate, and technical/lease accounting (4 direct reports, midsized overall team). This is a larger, high-volume environment and they are looking for folks with a stronger technical background vs. straight GL accounting (can read and write memos, understands disclosures, footnotes, etc.) Company offers unlimited PTO, flexible working schedules, free internal perks and product discounts, and an onsite spa and hair bar. Day-to-day Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met. Provide financial insights and reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making. Evaluate and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Lead the implementation or upgrade of accounting systems and tools. Partner with finance teams to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor variances and provide recommendations for cost management and optimization.
