Our success is the result of hardworking, skilled employees who share our passion for craftsmanship and innovation.Position SummaryLoading finished trailers on flatbed, drop deck and ramp commercial carrier trailers. Properly secure all outgoing loads while keeping pace with shipping demands. Must have forklift experience.Functions and ResponsibilitiesLoads finished trailers and parts for scheduled shipments.Operates forklift, yard tractor, and material handling equipment in and around warehouseMaintains the cleanliness and organization of the yardUtilizes available loading straps, wood, and dunnage to properly secure loads.Ensures compliance with all safety policies and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn.Works with the Shipping Yard Lead to assure proper load documentation is provided to each driver.Performs basic preventive maintenance on all equipment in the yard to include, tractor, lift truck and various fall protection equipment systems.Reviews freight orders to identify potential issues to avoid delays in shipping.Loads and unloads shipments, pallets, as may be required.Performs other related duties and assignments as required.Desired Education/ExperienceHigh School diploma or GEDPrevious hands-on experience with tractors, vehicles and forklifts and boom lifts preferredPrevious hands-on experience with a variety of power tools preferredPrevious experience rigging desiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPlanning: an ability to think ahead and prepare action plans to achieve results.Must have advanced rigging and load securement skillsAn ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.Attention to detail with good organizational skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with crew and outside drivers.Physical and Environmental RequirementsStanding – up to 90%Walking – up to 90%Pushing and pulling – up to 100 pounds frequentlyLifting – approximately 55% during the shift 25 pounds constantly75 pounds frequentlyBending – up to 50 times/dayClimbing – up to 20 times/dayCrouching – up to 30%Kneeling – up to 50%Sight with ability to distinguish colorDriving seated – up to 50%Exposure to moderate, steady and fairly loud noises, below 85dbExposure to slipper work surfaces, dust, dirt and shavingsExposure to extreme weather – position is 100% outsideAbove average enduranceMonday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm and Fridays 6 - 11:30am
