Entry Level Chemical Packagers

Sirius Staffing is seeking entry level chemical packagers for a contract to direct hire opportunity in Axis, AL. Schedule: 8 hour rotating shift: Days and Nights. The chemical packager position is responsible for the safe and environmentally sustainable quality packaging of various products. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Mandatory policies include clean shaving/grooming, attendance and punctuality, zero tolerance for cell phones, zero tolerance for smoking, tobacco/vaping, etc., and monthly blood draws.

Essential functions include inspecting incoming materials and reporting deficiencies to the supervisor, inspecting production equipment and communicating production needs effectively, cleaning, prepping, and inventorying supplies for packaging automation equipment, adapting quickly to changing operational needs to safely meet production demands, identifying and reporting plant conditions as necessary, performing housekeeping, mechanical, and reporting duties as directed, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, adhering to company policies, practices, and lawful directives, and completing additional assignments as directed by management.

Work environment includes exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noises, and/or vibrations, occasional exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at the manufacturing site, and occasional work performed in various and/or extreme weather conditions.

Physical demands include talking and listening, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day or at various times of day, frequently lifting and moving items over 65 pounds, and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Skills and qualifications include working rotating 8-hour shifts, rotating from days to nights, including weekends and holidays, working above and beyond normal hours during application season while maintaining high energy and safety levels, committing to safety and environmental compliance, working in a team environment to achieve production requirements, having good written and verbal communication skills, participating in the safety monthly blood draw program, being prompt, dependable, and having a good attendance record, and participating in the respiratory program, including but not limited to being clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator when safety needs dictate.
