Counter Sales Representative I

Summit Electric Supply is a leading electrical distributor in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana, part of the Sonepar group. We serve contractors with a wide range of electrical products and services. Role Summary The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting customers over the phone or in person, and works closely with Service Center sales staff and warehouse associates to ensure a high level of customer service. They will partner with customer‑service representatives and warehouse associates to maintain excellence throughout Summit. Essential Job Functions Meet and exceed customer expectations over the phone and in person when fulfilling orders and helping with products. Refill inventory with additional stock as necessary to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and choice. Assist customer service representatives and warehouse associates at times when additional assistance is needed to meet customer demand. Understand product capabilities, warranties, product uses, and challenges to further educate and serve external customers. Ensure the counter area and other areas of the store are neat, clean, and always stocked. Perform other related duties as assigned and as necessary depending on the location. Essential Qualifications and Experience Strong external and internal customer service orientation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written. Unwavering commitment to Summit values and mission. Strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast‑paced environment. Self‑less team player approach. Ability to perform warehouse tasks and work with warehouse equipment, including wire cuts. High school diploma or GED. Beneficial Skills and Experience Experience in the electrical distribution industry. Previous experience in the Summit Warehouse is preferred. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance. Physical Challenges Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular and consistent basis. Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Direct Reports No direct reports. FLSA Status Non‑Exempt.
