JOB TITLE: Traveling BIM Coordinator
JOB TYPE: Direct-Hire
LOCATION: National Travel – 11 Days On / 3 Days Home
TRAVEL: Nationwide project sites
START DATE: September/October 2026

We are seeking a Traveling BIM Coordinator to support active construction projects across the country. This is not a traditional desk-based BIM role. The position combines BIM coordination with onsite project coordination, working directly alongside the Superintendent and serving as a key resource for the field team.

The primary focus of the role is BIM coordination. This person will not be responsible for BIM design, but must understand BIM, construction drawings, and CAD software well enough to coordinate between drawings, trades, subcontractors, and field conditions. When not focused on BIM activities, this person will work as the Superintendent's right hand, assisting with day-to-day project coordination and field activities.

Candidates must be comfortable with extensive national travel on an 11 days on / 3 days home schedule. Strong BIM coordination experience and willingness to travel are the most important requirements. Candidates with those two pieces can be trained on the project coordination side of the position.

Responsibilities

• Manage BIM coordination activities for active construction projects.
• Review BIM models and construction drawings to identify coordination issues before they impact field installation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, trades, project teams, and other stakeholders to resolve BIM and drawing-related issues.
• Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit to review drawings, models, layouts, and project information.
• Support coordination between BIM documentation and actual field conditions.
• Work directly alongside the Project Superintendent as an onsite project resource.
• Assist the Superintendent with daily project coordination, scheduling, subcontractor communication, and field activities.
• Help track project priorities, open items, and issues requiring follow-up.
• Coordinate between field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and project management.
• Assist with documentation and communication related to project progress and field conditions.
• Support onsite problem-solving when drawings, installations, or field conditions do not align.
• Maintain organized project information and ensure outstanding coordination items are followed through to resolution.
• Travel nationally to active project sites on an 11 days on / 3 days home rotation.

Qualifications

• Previous BIM coordination experience in construction or a related environment.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and BIM models.
• Understanding of how BIM coordination translates into actual field installation.
• Comfortable coordinating with multiple trades and project stakeholders.
• Willing and able to travel nationally on an 11 days on / 3 days home schedule.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow-up items.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of an onsite construction team.
• Field construction or project coordination experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong BIM coordination experience.
• Ability to learn the project coordination and Assistant Superintendent responsibilities of the position.
