It’s a shared commitment to honoring what matters most.RESPONSIBILITIES:Transports participants to and from: the center, offsite activities, specialist appointments and transports meals as neededPartners closely with the transportation coordinator and IDT to observe and report changes in participants physical and psychosocial statusEnsures participant safety whenever they are entering, within, and exiting the vehicleMaintains vehicle and equipment quality by providing consistent maintenanceCommunicates clearly and professionally with internal and external customersConducts pre-inspection of assigned vehicles before they are used, reporting any defects to the transportation coordinatorParticipates in any on-call schedule as assignedAssists center staff during any down time, escorting participants between activities and rooms, cleaning after events, supporting with activitiesWe seek Rebels who are curious about AI and its power to transform how we operate and serve our members.Actively support the achievement of myPlace's Vision and Goals.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Passion for Service: A strong mission orientation to serve high-risk seniors and frail older adults with care and respect.Driving Experience: At least one (1) year of experience driving frail and elderly participants safely and reliably.Physical Capability: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of your daily responsibilities.Clean Driving Record: A valid California Class "C" Driver’s License with: At least five (5) years of driving experience. No more than one (1) moving violation or one (1) at-fault accident in the past three (3) years.Education/Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one (1) year of relevant experience may substitute for education.Certifications: BLS, CPR and First Aid certification (to be obtained within 60 days of employment).Preferred Background: Experience in non-emergency or public transportation is a plusOnsite/Schedules: Shift 1 Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pmShift 2 Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 5:00pmTuberculosis Screening PolicyTo ensure the health and safety of our members, if you are selected for this position, your job offer with SCAN will be contingent on providing proof of Tuberculosis screening upon hire or providing proof of a negative screening within the last year.
