Health System SpecialistHelpTotal Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Health System Specialist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov)Supervisory Function: Responsible for serving as a supervisor and directing the activities of the Lead Contact Representative and the Contact Representatives within the Emergency Room department; Performs long and short range planning, evaluating and analysis, and projection of future resource requirements; Reviews and monitors workload and find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed; Develops and implements a comprehensive internal quality control system that measures the effectiveness of such controls and their impact on the program.Health System Specialist Duties: Responsible for planning, directing, and integrating the programs and processes of patient registration functions within the Emergency Room and Fast Track Clinic. These include: Registration processes with Third Party Collections Program; Responsible for patient data/workload reporting function, developing briefings, charts/graphs, and statistical reports as requested by management; Utilizes the patient database information system which includes conducting patient interviews to update information on demographic and third party resource data, recording the information and submitting to the Third Party Reimbursement Office; Exercises delegated authority to make a preliminary determination in cases of questionable eligibility and probably third party liability.The Emergency Room department is a 24/7 area and may require some light evening/night availability.
