Assistant Steward
Stabbert Maritime/Stabbert Offshore is a Seattle-based maritime company focused on providing unique maritime solutions for its customers. The Company is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Steward.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out galley maintenance and preparation under the direction of the Chief Steward
- Assist with the planning and prepping of daily meals
- May be responsible for up to two meals as assigned by Chief Steward
- Ensure galley and common areas are welcoming, safe and well maintained
- Follow sanitation standards and hygiene procedures in line with company policy and maritime health regulations
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and proper handling of equipment and supplies
- Participate in safety drills and adhere to onboard safety protocols
- Assist with maintaining inventory records and ensure equipment is in good working order
Requirements
- USCG Merchant Mariner Credential
- STCW Certification including Basic Training, Security Awareness
- Serve Safe Food Handler Certification
- US Passport with at least one year remaining before expiration
- 2 – 3 years' experience in hospitality, cruise, hotel or maritime service preferred
- Food and beverage knowledge; familiarity with galley operations
- Strong ability to organize and communicate with others
