Process Technician – Injection Molding

Location: Snow Hill, NC
Job Type: Full-Time | Onsite

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Process Technician to support our plastic injection molding operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for mold setups, machine startups, process troubleshooting, process optimization, and ensuring high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold setups and machine startups.
• Troubleshoot molding defects including short shots, flash, sinks, burns, and warpage.
• Optimize molding processes to improve quality, cycle times, and productivity.
• Adjust process parameters to maintain consistent production.
• Support new mold trials and process validation.
• Monitor machine performance, scrap, downtime, and production efficiency.
• Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve process issues.
• Perform material changes and understand resin drying and processing requirements.
• Maintain accurate production and process documentation.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures.
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on plastic injection molding Process Technician experience.
• Experience with mold setup and machine startup.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for molding defects.
• Knowledge of engineering-grade resins and material drying.
• Experience optimizing cycle times and reducing scrap.
• Ability to read process sheets and adjust molding parameters.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work overtime and 2nd Shift as needed.
  

Preferred Experience

• Scientific molding experience.
• Hot runner systems.
• Automation/robotics.
• New mold sampling and process validation.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
