Assistant Dairy Manager

Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for an Assistant Dairy Manager for our Bloomfield location. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with managing dairy department. Price, stock, and rotate all dairy and frozen products. Assist with the interviewing, hiring, training and evaluation of a productive team of associates through supervision, work delegation and appropriate reward and discipline. Become familiar with all products carried in the department including being fully knowledgeable in the differences between the many varieties and types of dairy products. Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory control to ensure freshness and product quality for maximum sales and return-on-investment. Follow approved procedures for ordering, receiving product, price marking, dating and restocking cases to ensure quality protection, public image, accuracy and product rotation. Check and verify dairy department merchandise received to ensure that all items listed on vendor invoices are delivered and meet quality standards. Ensure that all products carried in the department meet Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace expiration date standards. Maintain good communications in the store and throughout the organization. Greet customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service and/or assistance. Ensure favorable department image to customers by maintaining a clean, attractive and friendly department. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED, required. Must have reliable transportation. Previous dairy/grocery experience, required. Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods. Must be able to frequently bend, lift and/or move 50 pounds. Must be able to occasionally bend, lift and/or move 75 pounds (with assistance). Ability to work in cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
