Academic Coordinator - Ophthalmology

Description The Academic Coordinator (Administrative Officer 2) for the Retina Division provides comprehensive administrative and programmatic support to faculty, fellowship programs, clinical research activities, and academic initiatives. This position coordinates faculty schedules, academic and professional deadlines, meetings, travel, and reimbursement activities while supporting trainee recruitment, accreditation, and fellowship program operations. The position oversees the selection, operations, and accreditation processes for trainees in clinical and basic science fellowship programs. In partnership with division leadership, the Academic Coordinator also assists with billing audits, process improvement initiatives, and the effective administration of departmental operations to ensure compliance, efficiency, and organizational success. Salary Range: $32.20 - $51.36 Hourly Note: Skills may be subject to test. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED 5 years minimum of Business operations and/or administration experience Ability to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Analytical skills sufficient to interpret and apply University and campus policies; define problems; formulate logical conclusions, recognize alternatives Strong written skills to prepare accurate, concise, and clear reports and document Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with University-wide and campus-wide Administrators, Deans, Department Chair, faculty and staff both orally and written Preferred: Knowledge of academic and/or administrative structure of institutions of higher education #J-18808-Ljbffr University of California - Los Angeles Health
