Accounting Manager

Carolina PRG has partnered with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization with a national footprint seeking an Accounting Manager to join its corporate finance and accounting team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations for a business division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, leading the month-end close process, and partnering with operational leadership to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for an assigned business division
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting reports in accordance with GAAP
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions to maintain reporting accuracy
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and communicate findings to leadership
• Partner with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
• Develop ad hoc reporting and financial analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Maintain a strong internal control environment and support audit requirements
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
• Assist in the development and standardization of accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience within a private equity-backed, high-growth, or multi-entity environment preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Self-starter with a proactive, business-minded approach and strong intellectual curiosity
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment
