CNC Machinist (Swiss CNC)

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate Swiss CNC machines for precision production runs
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate machine setups
• Make program adjustments and controller changes as needed
• Perform machine changeovers to support varying production requirements
• Monitor quality, performance, and production efficiency throughout the shift
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime
• Complete minor preventive maintenance tasks and support continuous improvement efforts
• Follow safety and manufacturing procedures while maintaining an organized work area
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to achieve quality and productivity goals

What We're Looking For

• Experience setting up and operating Swiss CNC machines
• Strong blueprint and schematic reading skills
• Hands-on Swiss lathe machining experience
• Ability to make program adjustments and perform machine changeovers
• Experience troubleshooting machining or production issues
• Understanding of CNC machine maintenance and preventive care
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment
• Working in highly organized production facilities
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to rotate between workstations when needed

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
