Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour evening/night shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend rotation, holiday coverage as needed, no call required. Flexible scheduling available including 4x12 or blocked weekends based on preference.

• 27-bed Cardiothoracic ICU in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma facility recognized as a top-ranked teaching hospital
• Comprehensive case mix including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, ECMO, and complex cardiac medical patients
• Typical patient ratio of 1-2 patients with robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Dynamic environment with team-based care model featuring Care Team Leaders and dedicated resource nurses
• Two approved time-off requests permitted during assignment

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma center experience required
• Hands-on experience with NextStage CVVH/CRRT machine required
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery and/or acuity adaptable environments preferred
• Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Proficiency with specialized equipment including IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO required
• Ability to float as needed within facility
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
