Electrical Engineer

Job Description
An industry leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for their Detroit team!

Responsibilities:

• Technicaldesign leadership, project oversight
• Coordinatetasks required in the project scope of work with specialists for firealarm, technology and lighting design
• Coordinatetasks with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers and other disciplinesfor equipment power needs and sizing electrical distribution
• Performelectrical design calculations for electrical loads/panel schedules
• Developelectrical systems one-line diagrams
• Select/scheduleelectrical equipment
• Editspecifications to reflect the project requirements
• Meetwith vendors to determine specification requirements for application
• Coordinatewith other disciplines for all Electrical design elements
• Preparedesign deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents
• Performproject construction administration including response to RFI's andaccurate review of submittals
• Performfield verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovationprojects
• Performanalysis, design and documentation of power distribution, lightingsystems, and grounding systems
• Reviewdesigns prepared by others as part of Osborn's QA/QC process
• Attendmeetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and otherprofessionals as projects require
• Workwith department manager(s) for planning and managing the design process tothe available hours in the work plan
• Participatein improvement of department standards of design, including drawingdetails and specifications
• Mentor/trainjunior staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor'sdegree in electrical engineering
• 6+years of electrical design in consulting engineering
• Experiencein designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial,Education, and/or Institutional projects
• PELicense preferred
• Strongknowledge of design and analysis software (Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, Easypower)
• Proficientknowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Code, NFPA, andFGI Guidelines
• Strongexperience with electrical system studies (short circuit, over-currentdevice coordination, and Arc Flash Hazard analysis per NFPA 70E)
• Proficientknowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work withcontractors to address construction issues.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
