Schedule:

12-hour day shifts (06:45-19:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Float to similar units as needed. Contract length: 13 weeks minimum, can extend through February 27, 2027.

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit combining Progressive Care and Medical Surgical/Telemetry patients with target nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 (up to 1:6 in extreme situations)
• 48-bed unit specializing in respiratory conditions including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, chest tubes, and ventilator management
• Comprehensive support resources including Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager on shift including weekends, Vascular Access Team, Respiratory Therapists, RRT, Code Team, and Behavioral Health Team
• Patient population includes COVID-19, influenza, pulmonary embolism, and complex comorbidities requiring telemetry monitoring
• 24-hour orientation with Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
• Block scheduling may be accommodated when unit needs are met

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or PCU settings required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• North Carolina RN license or Compact license
• Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, CPAP/BiPAP management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with chest tubes, central line care, heparin protocols, and cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
